Cat vaccinations explained
Core cat vaccines help protect against feline panleukopenia (also called feline enteritis) and the two main causes of cat flu, feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus. Cat flu spreads easily between cats and can make young and older cats particularly unwell.
For cats that go outdoors, the vet may talk through additional options such as feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Boarding catteries usually require vaccinations to be up to date before a stay.
